Well I am VERY excited to have a brand new, funky, creative website...YAY!

Realising that it is the slow small steps we take, day to day, moment to moment, that allow us to achieve the things we dream of.
"New" seems to be my state of being lately...

New Photo Shoots
New Boyfriend....eh...just joking...he's a keeper!!
My next "New" step is traveling to Asia...adventuring, relaxing, observing, experiencing NEW people, places and cultures.
I will probably be the first person to hike through the Himalayas with a guitar too :)
I'll definitely post up a picture of that one...tee, hee!

A new album is on its sweet way...all the music is done, just designs, printing & pressing to go! I'm very excited about it all and thought I would put up a picture, write down some thoughts, to capture this moment in time :)

Thank you to all the beautiful people and places that have inspired me to song write, the support and talent that has been contributed to this CD!

I am really looking forward to sharing this with everyone....in fact....some of my new trax are up on the myspace site now....check them out!!

For those that didn't know this is me and my beautiful doggy friend Emmy.

I spent this last year exploring the trails around my home in Kuranda, with her inspiration to get me out reconnecting to the land once again.

Unfortunately just over a week ago a tick took her life.

Although she wasn't around for long, I wanted to share this picture and express the joy she brought into my world.

The love animals give us is truely a gift and certainly Emmy will be in my heart and thoughts for a very long time.

Just before she died I wrote her a song. I played and sung it to her but honestly, I think she prefered it when I had stopped and was giving her a pat!!

Still I'll finish this blog with the lyrics....

My New Home!

After 3 years of travels I've found a home to settle in for a while.
My street winds up into the forest, crossing a bubbling creek which floods in big down pours. It takes you to my very steep and bumpy drive way, up to a wooden cabin with stunning views to the ocean and surrounding forest. I get to hear the swish of the wind, the gurgle of the water and the creature of the forest as they sing their songs.
This delightful place is 15mins from the funky little town of Mullumbimby...affectionately known as Mullum!
Now that I'm based somewhere, I plan to get a "band"...make the shellsBAND more than a 1 person affair =)

.... and on and on this list grows =)
I remind myself to take small steps. Chip chip chip. I slowly scratch the surface. Sitting in front of a computer screen, making calls on a mobile phone. My eyes growing square, my ears buzzing.
The rest of the time.... ahhhhhhh.... the good stuff... playing my guitar and singing... songwriting.
To find my balance!
Up here in the sun, in the lush green forests, North Qld still holds paradise up to my lips. As I explore the world under the ocean... cities of colourful coral stretch on as far as I can see, I follow turtles, float amongst the fish and gasp as my first shark swims by.
Nature keeps me smiling and grateful... what a wonderful place we live in!
So...
I take a day out.
To sit inside.
To get somewhere.
To share my music.

Goodbye Tassie...

It feels like home here. It has ever since I arrived. To say goodbye is surreal...I look around my room and cant seem to do anything. Instead I pretend its just another day... play solitare and listen to music. It'll be in a big rush, a few hours before I leave, stripping my room without having the time to realise I've left! To all my friends, who have made this such a special experience... THANK YOU! I'm sure 'Le Theatre Caniche' will live on... he,he,he!! My heart will be sending its love to all the amazing forests that have moved me...the Florentine, the Styx, Jacky's Marsh...that they may grow old...power to the people who are fighting for that! This island has certainly stolen my heart... so I'll simply say "see you later" cause how will I be able to resist not coming back again =)

Room for improvement...

Hi all!
I'm in melbourne being inspired by Artists doing their part for this beautiful earth we all live on!

Remembering we all have a part to play in protecting our amazing wild places... from the oceans depths to the high mountains!! His photography is stunning and his message is one we all need to hear.

I'm going to get involved once again with the Wilderness Society in Tassie to help fight for our amazing old giant trees... I'm sure I'll have lots more links and info once I get down there in a few weeks but in the mean time you can check out: www.wilderness.org.au

So just on my own life's journey, I feel there is always room for improvements in the way we live! Rather than get too depressed by whats going on, on a large scale, I think we can do sooo much on a small scale!!

*Composting, Recycling, Worm Farms (I've seen it in Melb. so I KNOW it works in cities too!!)
*Buying our food without packaging... GO FOOD CO-OP's!!! The amount of difference it makes in the energy of our planet to not produce that extra lot of plastic, the use of pesticides...etc.etc. We all make a difference... how worried would our big supermarkets get if we all began shopping locally, buying organic products! Tee,hee I like the thought!!
*Catching water from your shower to water your plants.
*Using re-usable pads... for the Ladies!! Go to: www.radpads.com.au but there are lots of brands to choose from, or you can make stylish one's of your own =)

I could go on and on I know! But if we all share new idea's with eachother on how to help, we'll start to build the kind of eco friendly world that is wonderful to be part of for all of the world's creatures!
So I'll finish with my lastest dicovery!! Re-usable dishcloths!! Can't believe it slipped thru for soo long without notice. I was buying those crappy plastic ones from the supermarket...terrible ;)
